On 25-26 September, the Episode consortium gathered in Karlsruhe at the EnBW Headquarters for a two-day General assembly meeting to discuss the latest progress and align on the next steps to achieve the project’s main goal: European produced sustainable Sodium-ion batteries for stationary applications. The first day was dedicated to the presentation of the first outcomes of the project: the requirements for the materials for the Episode sodium batteries (WP1) and the refinement and upscaling of the materials (WP2). Furthermore, within the context of WP5 an interactive session took place on the Episode sustainability KPIs and targets. The second day of the meeting was dedicated to a plenary discussion and alignment on steps for the next months and a visit to the nearby EnBW power plant, location of the first EnBW testing side for battery energy storage systems (BESS).
